Emma's Crafty Kids

Creative family fun for festivals, events and schools

Many thanks for your kind feedback

'The collages were exactly what we’d asked for and imagined. The finished items were even better. One of the main outcomes we wanted for our year group was for the pupils to experience collaborative working practices and everything I have heard the staff say about the day leads me to believe all children did this extremely well.  Small half class workshop groups worked well for us. This meant all children were able to be involved in working practically at all times.  Through developing collaboration and cooperation skills the children have produced beautiful pieces of art. These collages will be part of a permanent display in the school corridors as a reminder of their hard work.'

'We started working with Emma's Crafty Kids in the summer of 2016 to expand our family programme at the Big Tribute Festival in Aberystwyth, Wales and we're so glad we did! From making the booking to leaving the site, Emma and her team have been a joy to deal with. Their range of activities, energy and enthusiasm keep our younger festival goers entertained across the whole weekend. As a result, I've also booked them into another festival I work on in the Spring. Highly recommended!'

S. Pickup, Festival Director, The Big Tribute Festival

'Emma was absolutely brilliant with the kids especially those that found the messiness tricky. She was calm, fun fair. Very organised and had so many resources. Really understood just what we wanted from the day. Communication was fab. The children loved it! Quality of art work was superb and she worked through her dinner and at the end of the day to make sure it was all left beautifully. She even left us resources. She was great at explaining everything to the children and organised. Lovely to see her enthusiasm. We wanted to do something that we wouldn’t necessarily had time to prepare. The outcome was stunning.  We will definitely be using Emma again for other classes or whole school projects and cannot recommend her enough.  We thought how lovely, reliable and approachable she was. A pleasure to have in school and made the children’s day!'

'Emma and her team helped make the Market Bosworth Festival's Big Weekend a brilliant success

With lots of crafty things to try out, children and adults alike were able to let their creative imaginations run wild. Thanks Emma.'

S. Whiles, Market Bosworth Festival - Big Weekend

'The children all took part in the workshops to create a whole school under the sea display. All children contributed and applied their skills.  Emma was really friendly and welcoming with the children. The activities were made fun and enjoyable with good managing of the children.  Good planning and preparation before the visit. The children thoroughly enjoyed the workshops.Great, fun workshop which includes all children. Friendly and fun activities!'

F. Bimson, Oxford Grove School

'The workshop exceeded the schools expectations and helped to cater to all different types of learners. Emma was very accommodating to all learners, especially those whom are on the Autistic spectrum. Emma helped encourage children to share and show confidence in their work. All of the children responded to Emma in an amazing manner and did not want the workshop to end! This was a perfect engage and celebration for our topic; giving the children purposeful learning and a sense of pride in their achievements. A lot of children with low self-confidence also left the workshop feeling elated.  This is the second time I have experienced this workshop and will definitely be booking again for next year. Would also recommend to anyone who is doing a different topic to consider.'

C. Linklater, Sandringham Primary School

'Thank you so much for all your work before and during the week. The school is very happy with the outcome! The children have enjoyed the experience of working on such a large project.'

E. Kelly, West Hill Primary School

'Just wanted to say thank you so much to you for providing the craft activities in the arts marquee at this year’s Picnic in the Park.  Everyone looked like they were having a great time despite the weather.'

Cultural Services Event Team, NW Leics District Council

'Thank you for all of your work over the weekend, I have heard nothing but good feedback about your crafts over the weekend, so thank you.'

Festivals and Events, Leicester City Council

'Emma's visit into school resulted in a truly collaborative piece of art work that had real meaning and understanding behind it.  Emma communicated clearly both the reasons behind the art and the instructions and guidance the children needed.  They were fully engaged from the start and the finished display was both poignant and artistic. Emma was accommodating and very easy to work with.  The children thoroughly enjoyed the day, and so did the staff. Excellent value for money, clear focus and outcome, we would love to have Emma again.'

C. Harding, Head Teacher, Asquith Primary School

'We all really enjoyed it. The children were and still are excited about wearing the masks etc for our carnival!  We thought you were very engaging for the children and we liked how you had mini teaching sessions in between. We also thought the price for the sessions you provided was fantastic and we plan to use your services in the future!'

E. Shephard, Sandringham Primary School

'Thank you very much for coming in to work with us all, we thoroughly enjoyed it and the children got a lot from it...I will definitely be recommending you for any similar projects in other schools!'

V. Brewin, Herringthorpe Junior School

'I visited the terrific Slough Canal Festival in September 2014 with my wife and two-year-old daughter. My little girl absolutely loved the craft area which had been provided by 'Emma's Crafty Kids'. She had a wonderful time painting, gluing, sticking, badge-making and generally being creative! My wife and I were delighted to see her having so much fun - and we loved every minute of it too! Many, many thanks to Emma and her team for providing such a lovely experience for children. We hope to see you again sometime soon. Very best wishes from John, Ash and Rosie H'

Mr J. Highmore, Canal and River Trust - SE Volunteer Co-ordinator

'I just want to say a massive thank you for the all craft fun you provided at Slough Canal Festival today. The whole family had an awesome time.  I've never seen so much craft resources under one tent!  In fact I've been to big summer events and all the stalls added up together still had less to offer!  We had great fun making ducks, men, pots, fish tanks, moon landings and more. Emma and her helper were so patient with everyone no matter their age.  Very generous with the materials and very creative.  I've come away with loads of ideas to try at home.  Highly recommended I can't imagine how anyone would be disappointed booking Emma.  Go for it and enjoy.'

'Emma's Crafty Kids has been an important part of the Moira Canal Festival for several years now.  We have always felt it was important to have something that suits all ages at our event, and Emma has provided a well organised, professional and enjoyable entertainment for children and families, all delivered with her customary enthusiasm.  I will, of course, be inviting her to attend again next year!'

G. Pursglove, Events Manager, Moira Canal Festival

'My son and I have been regular visitors to Emma's Crafty Kids at Moira Canal Festival and have always enjoyed the range of creative activities on offer, especially as there is always something new to do.  The marquee itself is a feast for the senses, with brightly-coloured sculptures and wall hangings to inspire youngsters to make their own artwork, whether that is a badge of enormous junk model!!  One of the greatest things about these activities is that it gives parents and children the chance to make things together, something which rarely happens in our busy modern lives. My son will happily sit and build models for hours, from the huge variety of material available, without giving his Nintendo a second thought!  Emma invests a lot of time and thought in the activities she provides, constantly developing new ideas and projects for the children.  Her interactive music frame is unique and and magnet to children of all ages, who delight in experimenting with sounds or just enjoy the chance to be noisy! The range of activities means that there really is something for everyone and it is lovely to look at the fantastic creations made by the children at the end of the day.  These alone are a testament to how much children enjoy Emma's Crafty Kids activities, because there are so many opportunities to explore their natural creativity and above all, have lots of fun!  I look forward to seeing what Emma's Crafty Kids will have to offer next time and can thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone with young children.  Emma's Crafty Kids is something special and unique, which you and your family will want to come back to again and again.'

'We have enjoyed Emma's Crafty Kids at Moira Canal Festival for the past five years.  My family and I have spent hours in there.  We have had so much fun and can never wait to see what new things she has designed; from outdoor musical instruments, chalkboards, then modroc animals and all sorts made from recycling (junk modelling). It's great to see families coming together, children and adults alike using their imaginations and having such fun quality time together creating their masterpieces.  The great things about this is that you can use one of Emma's ideas or just get stuck in and craft away until your heart is content! Emma must spend hours thinking of new and exciting things to do.  I would highly recommend to anyone.'

Mrs C. Bolt, Leicestershire

'My children have enjoyed visiting Emma's Crafty Kids at Moira Canal Festival every year since the very beginning.  It is the highlight of the festival of them and we can spend hours in there making creations we wouldn't have time to make at home.  I love having the chance to spend that quality time with the kids and I love the recycling ethic.  The outdoor activities that appeared the last couple of years were a real bonus!  The kids especially love the giant downfall game!!'
